About
Tony Contratto writes imaginative novels for both adult and YA audiences, blending modern fantasy, apocalyptic intrigue, and deeply human themes. He is the author of the Agents of Fate Series and has also published poetry under the pseudonym Hayden Jowell. His storytelling explores fate, time, resilience, love, and complex relationships, reflecting a lifelong passion for weaving together character-driven drama with expansive worldbuilding.
Beyond the page, Tony is the Executive Director of Havasu Helping Girls, a nonprofit that provides free period products to schools and families, distributes starter kits to perimenarchal girls, and develops leadership initiatives to prepare the next generation of young women to thrive. In addition, he owns Hensley de Vere Press, his indie publishing house, Styles AZ, a boutique clothing store, and GirlhoodUSA, a company dedicated to youth empowerment through advocacy, education, and cultural change.
Tony’s creative journey began as a teenager co-writing plays and musicals, including The Rhapisiatic Apocalypse and Unite. He later expanded into fiction and satire, launching projects across multiple mediums, including political parody and transmedia storytelling.
Originally from Southern California, where he lived in Fullerton, Newport Beach, Chino, Rancho Cucamonga, Hesperia, and Apple Valley, Tony now makes his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with his family. His personal and professional life reflects a single through-line: a belief in the power of stories — and of voices, especially youth voices — to challenge systems, inspire hope, and transform culture.
